How long should I hold a pose?
„Should I stay in a pose for a minute or are 10 seconds enough?“
This question needs a bit of explaination:
If you are new to Face Yoga, I suggest to do 3 sets of 10-15 seconds.
Be aware of the moment comming out of a pose:
the relaxation, the tiggling sensation, the bloodflow, the space opening up, note all these sensations and allow yourself to stay with these sensations for a bit.
Too me, this part of Face Yoga is as important as the muscle isolation exercises and
you can learn a lot about your muscular habits if you listen to your body.
RELEASE
When I am doing releases, I very often take as much time as feels good for me at the moment.
And this is also my recommendation to you. If you got enough time, go with whatever feels good for you. If your time is limited, go with 3 sets á 10-15 seconds.
Please, my dear, always listen to your body, avoid pushing yourself or forcing your muscles to stay in a position.
If you have the tendency to ask too much of yourself,
step back even more and focus on listening and feeling instead of pushing and forcing.
Remember, you want to relax and release your muscles first.
(Tensed muscles tend to be shortened and in this condition it´s almost impossible to get the results you desire)
TIPP
I love to start my Face Yoga with a quick breathing exercise to calm down, focus and get centered.
Depending on the time I have, it takes everything from 1 to 10 minutes.
Have you tried a breathing technique before starting out with Face Yoga?
I´m doing a little series on breathing on Instagram the following week, if you are interested, please hop over to insta: https://www.instagram.com/p/CrbXi7eJ6AY/
